Rezension
Weihnachten in New York. Dash stöbert durch eines seiner Lieblingsregale in dem riesigen New Yorker Buchladen Strand und findet dabei dieses rote Moleskinnotizbuch. Kurzentschlossen folgt er den Anweisungen darin, doch beschließt er das Buch nicht einfach zurückzugeben. Stattdessen taschen Lily und Dash das Notizbuch in einer Schnitzeljagd quer durch New York, und ohne sich zu begegnen, hin und her. Doch schließlich stellt sich für beide die Frage, ob sie sich von Angesicht zu Angesicht auch so gut verstehen.
Cohn hat die Kapitel aus Lilys Sicht geschrieben, Levithan die aus Dashs Perspektive. Die beiden Erzählstimmern wechseln sich wunderbar ab und ergänzen sich sehr harmonisch. Wo Dash zu pessimistisch ist, ist Lily überschwänglich, wo Lily unsicher ist, weiß Dash was er will. Dazu ein paar lustige Verwicklungen, die mich ständig zum Schmunzeln brachten. Zwar bin ich anfangs nicht so schnell mit Lily warm geworden, aber hey - manchmal braucht halt ein bisschen und da es dann doch noch geklappt hat, soll das mal nicht zum Punktabzug führen.
Fazit
Ein sehr gutes Buch, das es schafft süß zu sein ohne kitschig zu werden. Eine wunderbare Geschichte, die nicht nur in der Weihnachtszeit ihren Zauber enfaltet.
